The comic book industry is leading at the box office, but it is bringing up the rear on the awards circuit. The nominees for the biggest prizes in the comic book industry, the Will Eisner Comic Awards, have just been announced, and DC Comics and Image Comics have the most nominations with 15 and 14. Nightwing has five nominations, including Best Continuing Series, Best Single Issue, Best Lettering, and Cover Artist for Bruno Redondo. The biggest nominee is Destroy All Monsters, with three nominations. VIZ Media has eight nominations, which is more than any other company, but it's behind both IDW and Fantagraphics who have 11 and 10 nominations, respectively. About 150 titles are in print and online from 65 publishers. Who was nominated? The full list can be found below. The winners will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con.
