Have you noticed that there isn't a lot of LGBT romantic comedies? There have been gay best friends, as well as gay and lesbian relationships among the side characters. Until now, the independent movie studios only went for films with lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer characters. Billy Eichner took it upon himself to change that trend, and it is happening with Bros, a new LGBT romantic comedy that he co-wrote with director Nicholas Stoller, with the full backing of producer Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures.
While Bros is still a few months away from movie theaters, Universal has dropped a very explicit trailer that shows the central relationship in the movie. Two openly gay men are portrayed by Eichner and Macfarlane. They haven't found the time to make a relationship work. Until they find each other. This is a romantic comedy. It is not going to be easy for these two to have everything they want. Sometimes they are at odds with each other. We think that everything will work out in the end.
The entire cast is made up of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer performers.
Bros will be in theaters on September 30.
