Running a company often demands early mornings and late nights and doesn't leave much free time.

Keeping up with a founder's lifestyle requires self-care. A study published in the journal Small Business Economics found that entrepreneurs were more likely than a control group to self-report mental illnesses.

Insider talks to entrepreneurs about how they organize their days to make time for self-care. Here are the habits they have formed to stay physically and mentally healthy.

A Fort Lauderdale, Florida, author and speaker namedNikkie Pryce is a coach for women to write their own books. Her company generated $124,000 in revenue.

She told Insider that she uses meditation apps to calm her mind when she wakes up.

She puts her phone on "do not disturb" mode until 9 a.m. and won't answer emails unless they are urgent.

Pryce likes to take herself to a restaurant or go shopping, but she also likes to walk out with a whole jogging suit and some wall decor.

The founder of Ginni Media made $500,000 in revenue in 2020.

According to Insider, Saraswati writes down what she is grateful for and meditates on a daily basis. She does strength training and cardio for 30 minutes at the gym after walking four blocks. She does boxing on Thursdays.

She likes to light a candle, use a foot massager, put on a face mask, and read a book at night. She likes to listen to an audiobook or a show.

After working in the mental-health industry for six years, Kelly O' Sullivan McKenna started her own private therapy practice, Sit With Kelly. Her company booked $250,000 in revenue last year.

She told Insider that she schedules her work days to best manage her anxiety. She only sees clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. She takes time out of her schedule to cook breakfast and lunch and go for a walk.

After finishing work at 5 p.m., she relaxes by cooking dinner with her husband. She likes to go on a night take walk or watch tv.

There will always be more you can do. She said that it was about recognizing that where you are right now is good enough.
