The lawyer for Martin Shkreli confirmed to Insider that his client had been released from prison early and sent to a halfway house.

After completing all the programs that allowed for his prison sentence to be shortened, Martin Shkreli was released from Allenwood prison and transferred to a BOP halfway house.

Any more comments at this time.

Getting out of real prison is easier than getting out of social media prison, according to a post on Shkreli's Facebook page.

An anti-trust lawsuit was filed against Shkreli after he raised the price of a rare drug by 5,000 percent. A federal judge banned him from the pharmaceutical industry for life and ordered him to pay a $64.6 million fine.

The US Bureau of Prisons confirmed to Insider that Shkreli was released from a Pennsylvania prison after serving part of a seven-year sentence.

The Bureau said that Shkreli will be released from federal custody on September 14.

The bureau didn't respond to the request for comment.
