The Bureau of Prisons said in a statement to Forbes that Shkreli was released from a low-security federal prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, and transferred to community confinement overseen by the bureau.

The release date for Shkreli is September 14, 2022, according to the spokesman.

Ben Brafman said in a statement to the Washington Post that he was released early after he completed all the programs that allowed for his prison sentence to be shortened.

Brafman said that Shkreli is being transferred to a halfway house and that he has encouraged him to stop making statements.

After he was found guilty of defrauding investors, Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison.
