There has been a lot of talk about new phones lately, with last week's I/O showing off not just a new Pixel 6A but a brief glimpse of the upcoming Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. There is a sale event that will end later today. There are still new phones in the box with full one-year warranties, which was the reason why Woot got its hands on them.

The soon-to-be-replaced Pixel 5A is for $4299.99, the 2020 edition is for $4499.99, and the next edition is for $3299.99 and $3499.99. The Pixel 5A is still available for sale from the company. Who would have thought that there would be a new-in-box for the Pixel 4?

It's not guaranteed that the Pixel 4 will get security updates after October 2022. While you may be tempted to tinker with the one-off face unlock and hand gestures with its Soli radar chip, the best value is the Pixel 5.

The 2020 flagship phone has a six-inch screen and 128 gigabytes of storage.

The Pixel 5 is an odd device. It was scaled back from being a full-tilt flagship phone to a more of a mid-range device. It has a powerful processor, a nice screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, and wireless charging. It came in the best color of all time, which is sage green. It should still get security updates until October 2023, because it is $250 off the original selling price. Maybe waiting two months for the Pixel 6A is better for some people, but this is not a bad value. Read the review.

The phone does the basics very well, even though it doesn't have a high refresh rate or tons of bells and whistles. It comes with timely software updates, a great camera, and water resistance.

  • $449 at Google

The Pixel 5A is a reskin of the Pixel 5 with a few features lopped off to keep the price lower. It has a slightly larger 6.34-inch screen, but no wireless charging. It has the same processor and camera system as the Pixel 5, but with an ultra-wide lens. The bigger size helps with the battery life. The 5A is in one color and costs $4299.99. It's not a great deal because it's only $20 off the regular price.

If you opt for a Pixel 5A, you will get a security update and a headphone jack until August 2024. If you wait for the $449 Pixel 6A to be released in July, you will get a phone with the faster Google TensorCPU and a promise of five years of security updates. There are decisions. Read the review.

The Pixel 4 has the same features as the previous iteration, but it has an interesting Soli radar chip that doesn't use a fingerprints for face unlock.

  • $330 at Woot (Pixel 4)
  • $350 at Woot (Pixel 4 XL)

At the time of its release, the Pixel 4 was a charming device, but its lackluster battery life makes it the least appealing phone in today's sale. The 4 XL is for $349.99 and the 4 is for $329.99. These phones will only get five more months of security updates, so keep in mind that they are good prices. We only recommend it if you have a specific use case for it, like matching your phone to your Dutch national team jersey for the World Cup, which is why we recommend it.
