The X80 Pro is a flagship device from Chinese mobile maker Vivo, and it boasts a number of features that are rumored to have been explored by Apple in the future of the iPhone.

The larger in-display fingerprint sensor is the most notable feature. The technology to make unlocking the phone more convenient and secure has been developed with the help of Qualcomm, which was one of the first phone companies to demonstrate an under-display fingerprint solution.

The active area on the display is larger, meaning that users don't have to align their thumb with a sensor to get their device unlocked. Touch ID users have to lift and press multiple times on a button for their fingerprints to be fully mapped, but the fingerprint sensor can register a finger with a single press.

The larger active area and the ability to set the phone to require two fingerprints simultaneously for an extra layer of security is something that is not supported by Touch.

It has been a long-standing rumor that Apple is going to launch an under-screen fingerprint sensor for the iPhone. In a research note in September of 2021, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that a new iPhone would be launched in the second half of the century. However, in March, Kuo said that it would not happen for several years because Apple is so focused on Face ID.

According to reports from The Wall Street Journal and Mark Gurman, Apple did test an under-screen fingerprint scanner for some of the iPhone 13 models, but decided not to move forward with the idea.

The camera is the most important aspect of the X80 Pro, as it looks as if the phone has been designed around the four Zeiss rear lens. The large camera housing on the back has a 50MP Wide camera and a 48MP Ultra Wide camera.

There are two periscope telephoto lens, one with a 2x optical zoom and the other with a native 5x zoom. Light entering the lens is reflected by a mirror towards the camera. The change in direction in which the light travels allows for a longerfolded setup inside phones that allow users to zoom in further without any blurriness.

The current 12-megapixel camera on the Pro iPhone models is not very good, and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the new Pro models will have a 48-megapixel Wide camera. There have been rumors about the iPhone getting a periscope lens. The periscope lens will be a feature in the next iteration of the device, but according to analyst Jeff Pu, the lens type will arrive with the next iteration of the device, the iPhone 15 Pro.

The X80 Pro supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, but it requires a separate compatible wireless charger to achieve that wattage. The maximum supported wattage on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max is 23W and 27W, respectively, according to independent tests. There is only 15W of wireless charging across the lineup, and only 12W of peak power via a MagSafe charge.

Until it can improve the maximum 15W charging speed, Apple has been trying to get an iphone with no external ports or buttons for a clean, streamlined device.

The X80 Pro comes with 12GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 6.78-inch 1440p OLED panel, and a 128GB of Storage. In the past, the company has expanded device availability to Europe, India, and areas in East Asia beyond China's borders.
