According to the Wall Street Journal, data from the black box of the China Eastern plane that crashed in March, killing all 132 on board, indicates that someone in the cockpit was to blame.
The pilot is the focus of the attention of U.S. officials, although it is possible someone else broke into the cockpit to cause the crash, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the assessment.
According to the report, the black box data suggests someone pushed the controls to cause the plane to nosedive.
It would be a huge relief for Boeing, which has faced a lot of scrutiny for its safety practices after software flaws caused the crashes of two Boeing MAX planes.
This is not a finished story.
