The agent for Lionel Messi denied a report that he would be coming to MLS.

According to Alex Candal of DirectTV Sports, the Argentina star will purchase a 35 percent stake in Inter Miami when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends in 2023, as part of a deal that will see him play for the team as well.

The team's stake is said to be worth more than $200 million.

Messi has not yet decided on his future, according to his agent. It is only as part of Paris Saint-Germain's stay in Doha, where David Beckham plays a role as an ambassador for the next World Cup, that Messi has crossed paths with him.

Beckham is one of the co-owners of the Miami Dolphins.

Beckham increased his ownership stake in the franchise.

International stars who have played in MLS in the last part of their careers include Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henry.

Messi would be the greatest soccer player of all time.

He has won seven Ballons d'Or, four European Championship titles, 10 La Liga titles, two FIFA Men's Player of the Year awards, and two UEFA Men's Player of the Year awards.

He played for the Barcelona first team from 2004 to 2020-21, but left as a free agent in the summer of 2020 due to financial issues at the Spanish club.

He won the league title in his first year in Paris, but fell short of winning the club's first title, which was likely its primary aim in bringing Messi to the club.

Messi said in 2020 that he always wanted to live in the United States and experience what the league was like.

Inter Miami would become one of the biggest draws in the league with the star power of Messi.
