According to a new report, the white supremacist terrorist who killed 10 people and injured three at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York was planning his mass shooting on the messaging platform Discord. The terrorist, who goes by the name of Payton S. Gendron of Conklin, New York, broadcasted his attack. At least half a dozen people were killed in a matter of seconds, while the company was able to stop the video. The video was spread throughout the internet. Gendron will carry out an attack against the replacers, and will even livestream the attack on twitch.
Gendron promoted a conspiracy theory known as the Great Replacement Theory after writing a manifesto that explicitly stated his hatred for all non-white people. Non-white people are being sent to countries that are traditionally white in order to replace the white population. There are claims that a shady Jewish group is behind this.
Gendron modeled himself after the Australian man who massacred 51 people at two mosques in New Zealand on March 15, 2019. In December of 2021, Gendron wrote that he wanted to carry out his own attack on the third anniversary of Tarrant's heinous attack.
Tucker Carlson, a white supremacist who has previously said immigrants make the U, is one of the talking heads on Fox News.
The company didn't pick up on the fact that Gendron was talking about committing the attack at least 17 times over several months. Gendron used the word more than 200 times.
Gizmodo will update this article if we hear back from Discord, which did not reply to an email early Tuesday.
If Gendron had gotten out of the supermarket before police arrived, he would have continued his attack. Gendron was arrested by police and has since pleaded not guilty.
