Double the number of tests from the first two rounds.

The US Postal Service's free at- home COVID-19 test page has been updated to state that citizens can now place an order for a third round of government-sponsored rapid tests. Compared to previous rounds, you will be sent eight tests instead of four.

When the US launched COVIDTests.gov in January, you had to go to the site, fill in your name and address, and the tests would show up in your mailbox. You'll get eight tests this time, so they'll be shipped in two separate packages. You will get a tracking number for each.

If you didn't order tests in January or March, you will be able to place a second order.

The USPS shipped around 270 million tests in March. The agency doesn't seem to have posted an updated total since then, so we reached out to see if there was a more up-to-date figure. You can order your tests using this link or by going to COVIDTests.gov and following the instructions.
