During its I/O keynote last week, Google announced six new hardware devices. The company is known for teasing its devices a little early, but it is not even summer yet, and it is already giving us a look at its fall lineup. According to our latest poll, this strategy could work in its favor.

Despite being several months from launch, the Pixel Watch stole the show with 42% of the votes, despite being the favorite of our readers. The second place was taken by the Pixel 7 series, which will debut this fall.

The Pixel Watch would steal the show. Fans of Wear OS had been clamoring for years for a first-party hardware release from Google. A prototype device was found in a Chicago restaurant and these rumors started ramping up last year. Since the cat was already out of the bag, it made sense for Google to say that it had a watch on the way.

The company wasn't very forthcoming on details. We know what it will look like, and it will come in a variety of flavors. We know that the new Google Home app will be integrated with the Pixel Watch. We don't know what the battery life will be like, what sensors it will feature, how much it will cost, and how it will compete with the best Android smartwatches.

There is a rumor that says the Pixel Watch is powered by a four-year-old chip. The amount of time it took for the watch to be developed is said to be the reason for this. The decision may have been influenced by the chip shortage.

It's not official yet, but it's possible that Google has figured out a way around this. The company has been hard at work over the past year getting the update ready, so it has had plenty of time to improve things. If it is true, it is understandable that some fans may not be happy about a new watch running old hardware.
