The main characters in The Boys live-action series have no powers of their own, which is one of the key changes made from the comic book that inspired it. They are just regular guys and a woman with strength. They have survived two seasons on Prime Video. Billy Butcher and his team need to level the playing field.
A lot of time has passed since the events of the second season of The Boys. The revelation that Homelander was dating a Nazi code-named Stormfront made him realize how much he loved him. While Homelander says all of the right things to the media, it's clear that he's losing his mind. Even Homelander's handler are terrified of him. Butcher has been given the chance to become a superhero, the thing that he hates the most. Even having powers may not be enough against Homelander.
The official description for The Boys season 3 can be found here.
