Have you seen the Burger King photos on social media? The photos are real, but there is one big catch, all of the foods being advertised were only available for one day in Berlin. Many people think that they are not regular items at Burger King in Germany.
The photos were all part of a Mother's Day promotion having a little fun with the idea that some people crave weird foods while pregnant. The campaign was called the "Pregnancy Whopper" and even just looking at some of the burgers might make you cringe.
The Whoppers had cucumbers with jam, bananas with eggs, ice cream with green olives, fish sticks with apple sauce, and strawberry ice cream with fries. The strangest combinations could have been the currywurst and fried herring, or the Whoopers containing bratwurst sausage and chocolate syrup. There was a torte with a lot of beef.
You won't be able to try these strange concoctions at Burger King if you missed the promotion in Berlin. We suppose that nothing is stopping you from making these monstrosities at home. There is a video version of the ad on YouTube and English subtitles.
The U.S. fast food brands have been spreading around the globe for 50 years. You won't find beef burgers at McDonald's locations in India. The McSpicy Paneer is a patty made of potato and peas that comes with condiments.
Inventions like the currywurst and fried herring burger will not be found on any menu outside of Berlin, Germany. If you want to see more of Burger King's real burgers, click through. You have been warned.
