Coleen Rooney will give more evidence in 10 minutes.

The plan to find who was leaking stories to the press was described by Hugh Tomlinson as a serious and concerted operation.

Rooney said that at the time it felt important, but it has been made bigger than it is.

She says that she did it so it looked like she was doing a regular story update.

Sometimes I do quite a few, it depends on what I am doing at the time.

Rooney was asked about a message she received.

She said she felt like she was in tough times or when there were things in the news.

Rooney believes that this was a fishing expedition.

Coleen Rooney told the court that she wanted the false story to run so she could have evidence.

She told the High Court that she thought that would be an extra step.

It was a story that was out there but it was not true.

Rooney says that she chose not to tell The Sun it was not true.

Coleen Rooney is being asked about private social media posts about a weekend away at the Soho Farmhouse.

The court heard that a post of Rooney with a bottle of wine was viewed by more than 200 people.

Mr Tomlinson said that Rooney's cousin-in-law was reposting her stories on her own account.

According to a data download seen by the court, Rooney only became a follower of her in 2021.

Rooney says that the two didn't follow each other for a while because she was doing a little investigation herself.

She said that she had fallen out with a friend of hers.

Rooney does not believe that the stories were leaked from elsewhere.

The court is looking at a series of messages that were sent between Rooney and Vardy while he was in Mexico.

In one, he says that the weather is better than he has experienced.

Rooney was asked if these are suspicious messages.

She said that it could be if I didn't find out what I found.

Hugh Tomlinson is now looking at a post on her private account. This was on her main grid.

Rooney believes that this post was used for a story about her husband going back to England to have a baby.

Why? Rooney said she had a difficult year, as did the post.

Rooney insists she believes there is, despite Mr. Tomlinson pressing that nothing on the face of the post links it to her.

I believe this is Ms Vardy's account, from what I suspected.

Coleen Rooney is being questioned by Hugh Tomlinson on the process of hiding her stories from the majority of her followers.

She said unhiding the posts was simpler than blocking, but it took a bit more time.

Rooney began posting stories about her holiday in Mexico.

Coleen Rooney told the court that there were a lot of times where things went missing.

Rooney was directed to a post of her and a baby girl by Hugh Tomlinson.

He asked if this was to give the false impression that she wanted a baby girl, to which she said yes.

The court heard that her family would not know what I was doing with the photographs of her niece.

She said that she has photographs with the little girl, but they don't say gender selection.

Rooney explains that she accepted a friend request, which is why some stories show they have been viewed by two people.

Rooney said that she unblocked her followers from her story.

She said she wanted to post things that she would normally post while on holiday.

The operation lasted two days.

Coleen Rooney blocked certain people from her social media accounts to try to find out who was leaking information about her.

Rooney said she didn't mention it to anyone because she wanted to be sure that Rebekah was watching the posts.

She said that if she wanted to find out who was doing it to her, she had to keep it to herself.

She said that she didn't tell Wayne Rooney because she didn't want to put her troubles on anyone else.

Rooney insists she did not tell anyone else about the operation.

She explained to the court how she hid her private account from those who follow it.

Rooney says it is an easy process, but also easy to miss someone.

The court is currently discussing three posts, one about a measles outbreak in Washington, one about the Easter holidays and another about gender selection.

There is a fourth story missing.

Rooney remembers that the gender selection post was only seen by one person.

She said she took pictures of the screens after she did the post.

Rooney saved and screenshotted the posts, but there are no images from April.

Rooney says she has plenty on her phone, but not on that date.

Coleen Rooney sent a message to Rachel Monk.

Rooney described Rebekah Vardy as hungry after she did stuff at the World Cup.

Rooney said she had already blocked her and that she didn't know if removing Vardy from her account would solve the problem.

She didn't want to "trap" Vardy but she did want to find out who was doing it.

She said that she took it to the public and thought it would be the end of it.

I felt the only way I could catch the person was by myself.

She said that taking her off her account would have been the easiest thing to do.

Coleen Rooney is being questioned by lawyers for Rebekah Vardy about what they refer to as the "babysitter post".

Rooney says that Rachel Monk has worked on and off with her for years.

Rooney was asked if newspapers get in touch before stories about her are published.

Mark Whittle and Monk PR are expected to give evidence later today.

A message is read out from Ms Monk, who was alerting Rooney to a story being pursued by The Sun regarding Rooney finding a babysitter.

Rooney was unfollowed by Rooney shortly before the question was posed, so she was asked if she believed that Vardy was still leaking stories.

She didn't know what Vardy was thinking at the time, but she thinks she got away with it.

She said that babysitters wasn't something she often spoke about and that they were living in America at the time.

The Sun asked for the court to hear the request 10 days after the private post.

Coleen Rooney was asked why she didn't follow Rebekah Vardy on social media.

She said that it INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals INRDeals

Rooney said that she wouldn't be that bothered if she was in Vardy's shoes because they are not good friends.

She said that this added to the other suspicions that she had.

On Friday, the court discussed an exchange of messages that took place on 11 February.

The message from Rebekah asked if she had done anything to offend you.

Rooney said that it was a cover up for what she was investigating.

She said that she lied to her. The message said "Oh, I didn't even know, the kids have my phone all the time, let me check."

Rooney didn't believe that Vardy would tell the truth even if I confronted her.

She said that she was told a lot of lies by Vardy, so she didn't think it was a good idea to warn her.

She said in March that she thought it was Vardy on his accounts.

Coleen Rooney is expected to give her evidence this morning, as the trial continues at the Royal Courts of Justice.

We have heard from Rebekah Vardy, who gave evidence for 12 hours, at times becoming emotional and teary-eyed.

We heard from a number of witnesses this afternoon, including Rooney's brother Joe McLoughlin, Wayne Rooney's manager Paul Stretford, Ian Monk and his daughter Rachel Monk, and former FA media chief Mark Whittle.

The trial is four days old and we have heard a lot of evidence.

  • Rebekah Vardy has admitted that "for a moment" she'd been prepared to leak a story involving footballer Danny Drinkwater after he crashed his car and was arrested for drink-driving;
  • The court heard messages between Vardy and her agent about Man City's Riyad Mahrez missing a training session in 2018, in which she said other players were "fuming". She said her agent did not leak the information to The Sun;
  • Vardy denied sitting behind Coleen Rooney at the 2016 Euros in order to gain more publicity, calling the allegation "ridiculous";
  • She was also questioned about allegedly staging a WAGs' photo during the 2018 World Cup in Russia;
  • Vardy claimed she was "just joking" when she told her agent to leak a story about a "well-known celebrity", referred to as Mrs F, and a footballer, identified as Mr G, having an affair;
  • Rooney has told the court she was in a "vulnerable situation" following her husband's drink-driving arrest in 2017 and claimed a photo of her family, shared on her private Instagram account, was leaked to the media at the time;
  • She also said Vardy had a "desire to be famous" and "no topic was ever really off the table" when she was featured in The Sun;
  • Vardy's lawyer said Rooney was "revelling in the attention" of comparisons to Scooby-Doo and Agatha Christie's Miss Marple after her social media post claiming Vardy was responsible for the leaks went viral;
  • Vardy admitted she directed her agent to look at Rooney's private Instagram account to see a post about a car crash but denied that she had been monitoring it;
  • Vardy has said she didn't leak a story about Danielle Lloyd's miscarriage and honeymoon in the Maldives, claiming the model gave the information to the media herself;
  • Vardy became upset after Rooney's lawyer brought up a story about online abuse directed at her children;
  • The court has heard that a "catalogue" of messages are not available after a phone belonging to Vardy's agent fell into the North Sea;
  • Rebekah Vardy told the court about a 2004 interview in which she spoke about a sexual encounter with Peter Andre, describing the singer as "hung like a small chipolata".  She said she regretted making the "shameful" comments;
  • Peter Andre later hit back at the jibe, saying he has been the "butt of all jokes" for 15 years and there would be "absolute outrage" if the comments had been about a woman.

Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy were photographed arriving at the High Court.

Before today's court session gets under way, here is our arts and entertainment reporterBethany Minelle's backgrounder on the case.

The man who came up with it admits it may well be his legacy.

It's understandable that Dan would speak out after the BBC mis-identified the origin of the phrase.

The proof that it was his genius can be seen in the message below.

If they had searched for the first use of the phrase, they would have found it and brought up Dan's message.

Dan mis-spelt the name of the woman.

He wrote about the experience of going viral in the Observer and said that he would haunt him until he was under the ground.

Despite my error, I still maintain that I was first in any meaningful sense and I am happy to go all the way to the High Court to prove my claim. I think it would be appropriate.

I have nothing to hide and I am willing to repeat my messages about Danny Drinkwater from the courtroom floor. We could possibly negotiate a two-for-one deal with the Royal Courts of Justice, so we could run the trials in parallel.

Hello and welcome to the fifth day of the trial. The court is due to start this morning.

We have heard the opening statements from the lawyers on both sides.

Rooney is currently being cross-examined, while Vardy has completed her testimony.

Ian and Rachel Monk, a father and daughter PR team who represented Rooney, and her brother, Joe McLoughlin, are some of the other witnesses we will hear from once Rooney's questioning is over.

The case is only scheduled to last until Wednesday, so it is possible that some witnesses will have to be dropped.

Wayne Rooney is going to give evidence.

You should be here at 10:30 for the start of the session.

The Rebekah Vardy v Coleen Rooney trial is being reported live.

There are four days of evidence here because the trial started on Tuesday 10 May.
