The Ecobee Enhanced and Ecobee Premium are expected to be released soon, according to ZatzNotFunny. The Enhanced model has appeared in a post, while the Premium model has been leaked. Ecobee's existing lineup of thermostats consists of 2016's Ecobee3 lite and 2019's Ecobee SmartThermostat with voice control.
The Ecobee Premium is set to replace the SmartThermostat. It still has a built-in microphone with support for voice assistants, but new for this model is air quality monitoring. One product photo shows the Ecobee app suggesting a window be opened. The thermostat's user interface seems to have been updated to make it easier to find information, like the current temperature, larger on the screen.
It is not clear what improvements will be made to the Ecobee Enhanced thermostat, which appears to be a replacement for the $180 Ecobee3 lite. It seems to benefit from the same interface as the Premium, but there is less information about functional differences. The new model was reported by Dave Zatz in December.
There is no word on when the thermostat will be released. The fact that Ecobee's flagship SmartThermostat is out of stock on its website suggests we might see a successor sooner rather than later. A representative from Ecobee did not respond to the request for comment.
