So this Luka Doncic guy? The Dallas Mavericks dismantled the Phoenix Suns 123-90 on Sunday in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
For the first time in four years, neither of the top two seeds will be playing in the Western Conference finals after the Dallas win. The Boston Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks in an earlier Game 7 to eliminate them from playoff contention on the same day.
The struggles of Phoenix stars Chris Paul and Devin Booker, who were both held pointless in the first half, were a stark contrast to the heroics of Doncic. Spencer Dinwiddie had a playoff career-high 30 points off the bench for the Mavs.
The association was talking about the sudden exit of the NBA's only 64 win team from the playoffs, in the least shocking development of the largest road win in a Game 7 since 1948.
The NBA didn't hold back when it came to complaining about the Suns or basking in the glow of Doncic and Dinwiddie.
