A veteran pass-rusher has been added to the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins will be signing three-time Pro Bowl defensive end/linebacker Melvin Ingram. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The two sides reached an agreement on Sunday.

After spending the first nine years of his career playing for the San Diego/ Los Angeles Chargers, he split the 2021 season between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. He was traded to Kansas City in November after making just one start in six appearances, after signing a one-year contract with Pittsburgh.

In six of the nine games he played for the Chiefs, he started. He had 25 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumbled for the two teams.

The Dolphins have high expectations going into the 2022, and they have a new addition in the form of the 33-year-old Ingram. Miami hired a new head coach and made a number of additions to the offensive side of the ball.

The Dolphins acquired six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs and signed him to a massive contract extension, making him the highest-paid wideout in the NFL. Miami brought in a trio of veteran running backs in Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert and SonyMichel, as well as stalwart left tackle Terron Armstead.

The Dolphins had 48 sacks last season. The pass rush is even more dangerous with the addition of Ingram to the rotation.
