The department said one person died at the scene of the shooting, four people were critically wounded and one person suffered minor injuries.
The sheriff's department said that a weapon that may be involved was found at the scene.
No one should have to fear going to their place of worship.

At least two people have been killed this weekend. There were at least 10 people killed in a racially motivated hate crime at a supermarket in Buffalo on Saturday, and two people died in an altercation at a flea market in Houston.
