After winning the FA Cup in front of a record crowd at Wembley, Emma Hayes said her players would go down in history.

It is the club's fourth Women's FA Cup trophy.

I'm just so happy. She said that those women will go down in history.

I will look back at 10 years and see that group was immense. They are the best team I have ever coached.

We have a group of people who are not on the losing team. They will find a way.

As she kissed the trophy in front of the fans at Wembley, she beamed as she led the team up the steps to collect their medals.

She showed the media her gold medal after holding back tears while talking about the legacy of departing trio Jonna Andersson, Drew Spence and Ji So-yun, which she showed off during the media conference.

When asked where this latest victory sat in her long list of achievements, she said: "This is top, easily." This is for my football club because I love it.

This is for Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia. This is for the people who work at the club.

Everyone at this football club has had a tough year with the sanctions. I will be drinking a lot of champagne. I will be going across the street to make sure someone takes me home.

'They underestimated us'

Manchester City came from behind twice to tie the game in the 89th minute and force extra time, which they won.

The best FA Cup final I have witnessed has to be the one that Gareth Taylor's side created numerous chances in.

The League Cup final defeat to City gave her side extra motivation and a refusal to be beaten.

If I am honest, we were a little underestimated. I think they underestimated us, and that motivated the team, said Hayes.

We have won a lot of titles. We have a belief in the group and our playing style is different. We are able to dig in the hardest moments.

Our strategy was aggressive, dangerous and risk-taking but spot on.

'The future is bright for City'

Football at the highest level is what she loved about coming up against Manchester City.

The rivalry between the two sides has grown stronger in recent years as City have excelled in the cup competition.

In the past four seasons, City have won two FA Cups and two League Cups, the same number as Chelsea, while only the Blues have won five league titles in six years.

City manager Taylor said that they do really well. It was difficult to play against that.

They have been to the finals in the past three or four years. No other team has taken a trophy.

We are proud of that and we are proud to be here again. We know we can do it. We know we have areas to improve. The future is bright because we have a lot of good young talent coming through.
