The month of May is when we learn what new shows are arriving in the fall, what shows are coming back for a future season, and what gets canceled. This May has been a rough one for The CW, as the network behind the Arrowverse, Vampire Diaries franchise, and much more canceled 10 shows.

Warner and CBS Studios are attempting to sell it off now that they have new avenues to push their shows in the respective forms of Paramount+ and HBO Max. While the network is in the process of finding a potential buyer, shows are still being made for it, as are the constantly chaotic Riverdale and Nancy Drew. There are new shows on the horizon, but they are in the form of Supernatural, Batman and a Nancy Drew spinoff called Tom Swift.

It definitely feels like some kind of change is in the works for the CW if it doesn't survive past 2023. The CW was a replacement network for UPN and The WB, and with some of their shows along for the ride, nothing suggested it would make much of an impact. The debut of Arrow in 2012 was a turning point for the network. The CW was known for its melodrama and flat acting, but it didn't fall back on romantic troubles to stretch relationships to their breaking point. CW shows have been reliable crowd pleasers that often get in the middle but recover in time for the finale. You didn't worry about if the show would be canceled, you just wondered when it would end.

Tell us about your favorite CW show. Tell us that you started to like the show on the network, but eventually had to walk away because it got too much.
