If you watched Only Murders in the Building, you would expect a good time from Saturday Night Live with Selena Gomez hosting. If you didn't watch the hilarious whodunit on Hulu, then you need to find a way to correct that, and this opening monologue gets things off to a great start.

Gomez comes out swinging with some wisecracks pointed directly at her Only Murders co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, a demonstration of how she more than holds her own starring alongside the two comedy legends. Several cast members were reminded that she is single and appearing on SNL because she is all about "manifesting love" after she delivered a quick "Miley Cyrus" impression.

The best part of the monologue is at the end. Gomez got her start in acting on the children's show Barney and Friends. At the start of the monologue, she mentions it, but then she returns to it as the monologue winds down, inviting the audience to join her in a singalong of the famous Barney song.
