The former wrestler was diagnosed with colon cancer.

He made the announcement on the social networking site.

This news comes almost a month after he publicly announced that he had suffered two massive strokes and was diagnosed with dementia. He said he was diagnosed after returning from Dallas.

He was best known for his time in the WWF. The Tennessee native first appeared for the promotion in 1986 asLucius Brown, but later changed his name to Virgil and served as the bodyguard for Ted DiBiase.

In the summer of 1991, the biggest feud in the world was against DiBiase. The Million Dollar Man was defeated at SummerSlam. It was the only major title he won.

After leaving World Wrestling Entertainment in 1994, Virgil returned to independent wrestling and was hired by World Championship Wrestling. He was introduced as the head of security for the New World Order when he first joined the company.

In 1999 he had a pay-per-view match against Stevie Ray, though he was rarely used as an in-ring performer. Stevie Ray became the leader of the Black and White.

The year 2000 was when Virgil left. He made a couple of appearances in 2010 with the son of the Million Dollar Man.

During the November episode of AEW Dynamite, Virgil appeared as the first name he used in wrestling in 1985, soul train Jones.
