The show must go on this week because Pearl Jam found replacements for their drummer with local talent.

Eddie Vedder and his band played two packed shows in Oakland, CA this week, and in both instances, he brought up skilled drummers from the area to help them.

MC recently came down with the rona, but Pearl Jam insisted on proceeding with the Oakland gig, as they had previously pushed them back, and didn't want to do it again.

To help them move along, they used a couple of pros by the names of Josh and Richard to carry a majority of the load through each performance, but also had some Oakland guys fill in for at least one song on each day.

The first guy was a music teacher who joined the band for the final song, and apparently did a great job.

The next night, a teenager named Kai Neukermans -- who plays in a band called The Alive -- was brought on stage to take over drumming duties midway through the performance, and he too seemed to kill it.

It was not a random thing that happened all at the same time. Both of the amateur drummers were carefully selected and practiced.

They played a Pearl Jam concert in front of thousands of people. No doubt about it, that will raise your profile a bit.
