A mass shooting in Buffalo is being investigated as a hate crime after a man is alleged to have killed at least 10 people in cold blood. The 18-year-old was taken into custody Saturday and is being questioned by the FBI after he allegedly went on a shooting rampage at a Tops Friendly Market grocery store with what appears to be a semi-automatic weapon. Officials say Gendron drove a long distance to arrive in this neighborhood, which is predominantly African-American. He is thought to be from Conklin, NY, some 200 miles away. According to reports, he declared himself a white supremacist. The scariest aspect of this is that the shooter appeared to have been broadcasting the whole thing on the internet. You can hear a man in the video say something to the effect of "you just gotta go for it" as he pulls up in front of the entrance. After Gendron was taken into custody, onlookers took in the bloody aftermath he left behind as he was being cuffed. There are other pictures that show what was going on inside. It appears that people were watching and even commenting on his page as it unfolded. The mayor of Buffalo called it a nightmare and the sheriff of Erie County called it a hate crime. So far, 10 are dead and 3 are injured. The security guard opened fire on the guy, but the shooter was wearing body armor and shot and killed the guard. The story is developing.
