When she signed Ji So-yun, Emma said she was one of the best in the world and promised fans they would love her.

It was clear to see on Sunday, as Ji ran out of the tunnel to a roar from the crowd, with a flag draped across her and a big smile on her face, that the promise of a champion had come true.

The fans love her and her trophy cabinet.

Ji became one of only four players to have won the competition five times after the Blues wrapped up a third successive Women's Super League title with victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

She has won the Community Shield, League Cup and FA Cup, and she will attempt to win her fourth when she leads her team against Manchester City.

It will be her last game for the club at Wembley, where she scored the winner in the first Women's FA Cup final to be held at the national stadium.

When Ji joined the club, it was not a trophy-winning machine.

Paul Green was part of the delegation that persuaded Ji to move to west London. It was a massive coup to be able to persuade Ji to join a club that was still in its infancy, according to Green.

She didn't speak any English at first, but after her first season she was named the player of the year.

He said that she became a legend for the club and the WSL as a whole.

Green said that she has contributed to the team's success and some of the individual success she has had.

I don't think anyone would believe that we would have had Ji for eight years because of where we were at that time.

It has been a partnership that has worked well. She has been good for us and good for her.

Ji was the first non-British player to play in the league and the first South Korean to play.

She has contributed to 66 goals and scored 37 in the WSL.

She has assisted five goals and created 11 chances this season.

Lindsay Johnson, a former England andEverton player, said that she was an intelligent player who was difficult to get the ball off.

She said that she is influential on the ball and very creative.

'Life and soul of team'

Ji has left a lasting impression on her team-mates and the coaching staff with her personality.

Sam Kerr said that Ji is class on the field but she is also a character off the pitch.

Green said that the South Korean is a very funny person and always has a smile on her face.

The staff used to joke that she would use the language barrier to her advantage.

She is a likeable character. We used to think that she only knew English when it suited her. If she wanted a day off or a pay rise, she would be able to ask in English, but she wouldn't do that.

Ji started three of the four games that preceded the FA Cup final and scored in the 2-0 win over Arsenal in the semi-finals.

Her introduction at the half-time break was crucial in turning around the game and winning 4-2.

Ji wanted this day in front of the fans. She wanted to be instrumental and she was honoured in front of the home supporters after she paraded her latest piece of silverware.

Ji was the most successful player from outside our league, as she departs, and she was honoured to coach, as she was an honour to coach.

We have been through a lot together, on the pitch and off the pitch. Those three are driving standards all week because they know what they're doing.

They want to leave as a champion. Ji leaves a huge stamp on everyone. I will miss her a lot.
