Spider-Man and his alternate universe webswingers have been hanging out with one another in the comics ever since the Into the Spider-Verse event brought them together. The Spider-Geddon event was held in conjunction with the Into the Spider-Verse movie, and now a third event will bring things to a conclusion. Will it?
End of the Spider-Verse is a new event from writer Dan Slott and a currently unknown artist that will supposedly bring the Spider-Verse to a conclusion.
In August, Slott and a rotating team of writers and artists will release a five-issue anthology called Edge of Spider-Verse. Slott will co-author the issues with writers like Pacheco and Alex Segura, as well as art from Mark Bagley and other currently undisclosed artists.
Since multiverses are hot right now, and Spider-verses in particular are about to get a resurgence, you can look at Edge and End of Spider-verse as a good warm up for the world-hopping weird on the horizon. After defeating multiversal vampire twice, the question now is, what will bring Spider- characters back together to save the multiverse? Edge's second issue will reveal that.
The weekly five-issue run of Edge of Spider-Verse will begin on August 3rd, while End of Spider-Verse has no release date.
