Earl Thomas was arrested in his hometown of Orange, Texas, more than two weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest for violating a court protective order.

Thomas was arrested by the Orange Police Department after he was recognized at a restaurant.

The Austin American-Statesman reported last week that an arrest warrant was issued for Thomas after he sent threatening messages to a woman.

It is more than 250 miles from Austin to Orange, Texas.

According to the newspaper, Thomas faces a third-degree felony for at least two violations within 12 months of a protective order that stated he could only communicate with the woman through a co-parenting phone app. The woman had told police that Thomas had threatened her and her children via text, including one message on April 18 in which he told her he would kick her ass.

According to the American-Statesman, the arrest warrant stems from Thomas reaching out to the woman to see their children.

On April 22, Thomas told Adam that he wants to return to football. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time First Team All-Pro has not played in a game since the year he signed a four-year, $55 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Thomas was released by Baltimore in August 2020 after punching teammate Chuck Clark during a training camp practice.
