Russia will be defeated by the end of the year, according to the military intelligence chief.

Major General Budanov said he is optimistic about the prospects of the war in Ukraine.

Budanov told Sky News that the breaking point would be in the second part of August.

Most of the active combat actions will be over by the end of the year.

Budanov said that Russia's military tactics have not changed much despite the army's efforts to the east of the country.

Budanov said that Russia is suffering setbacks in the war. The Washington Post reported that it would take years for Russia to recover from their military losses.

The UK intelligence said on Friday that a significant setback occurred this week when Ukraine stopped Russia from crossing a key bridge in the country's east after a three-day battle with Russia.

Budanov told Sky News that they suffered heavy losses in manpower and armor, and that many of the crews abandoned their equipment.

Budanov said that Europe sees Russia as a powerful threat.

He said that it was not as powerful as this.

Sky News said that Budanov's predictions have been correct before. The media outlet reported that he accurately predicted when the Russian invasion would happen when others in his government were skeptical of the claims.

The former prime minister of Russia made a comment on Friday.

Mikhail Kasyanov was Putin's prime minister between 2000 and 2004.

Putin has begun to realize that he is losing the war, according to Kasyanov.
