Three people were shot near Deer District outside Fiserv Forum near the conclusion of Friday night's Game 6 between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics, sending fans there fleeing through the streets.

A man and a woman were taken to the hospital by a third person, according to the Milwaukee Fire Department. Three people have injuries.

The man is in police custody.

The incident took place outside of the Deer District area, according to Barry Baum.

During the team's run to the NBA championship last season, fans began packing into Deer District. Friday was the first chance for fans to pick up on the tradition after a long winter, and with a chance to wrap up the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Celtics. There were metal detectors surrounding the bars and entrance to the stage.

The shooting took place one block away from Fiserv Forum.

The Deer District had reached the 11,000-person capacity set for the watch party before Game 6.

Many in the crowd ran in different directions after hearing gunshots with a little more than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter of Boston's victory.

A large police presence remained outside the arena hours after the game ended. There is an ongoing investigation.
