Jeff Bezos said the new 'disinformation board' should review Biden's tweet that tied high inflation to low corporate taxes, calling it 'misdirection'

Bezos went after President Joe Biden on Friday for suggesting that large corporations should be taxed to bring down inflation.

Do you want to bring down inflation? Biden said that the wealthiest corporations should pay their fair share.

The billionaire suggested that the president's post could be considered false.

The newly created Disinformation Board should review this, or maybe they need to form a new Non Sequitur Board instead, according to Bezos.

Raising corp taxes is fine to discuss. It's important to discuss inflation. Bezos said that grouping them together is misdirection.

Inflation in the US has reached its highest levels since the 1980s, affecting the price of essential goods like gas, food, healthcare, and housing. The rate of inflation slowed for the first time in eight months in April.

Excess demand for goods and services, rising costs of wages and materials, currency devaluation, and policies and regulations are some of the most common causes of inflation.

Amazon has been accused of not paying its fair share of taxes. The company paid no federal income taxes.

ProPublica reported last year that Bezos paid no federal income taxes in 2007, and 2011.

The White House did not reply immediately.
