  • Musk wants to confirm that bot/spam accounts only account for roughly 5% of Twitter's users.
  • He has previously spoken out about wanting to "eliminate" Twitter spam bots.

The deal has been put on hold after Musk announced on Friday that he was putting it on hold.

The number of fake/spam accounts on the platform was the reason for the announcement. Less than 5% of the platform's users use these accounts. The company said that it may not represent the actual number of accounts, and that the actual number of false accounts could be higher than they have estimated.

Musk is now looking to confirm the numbers after finally catching on to this.
