James Harden delivered another zero in a big game.

I can say that it is any better.

It's hard to know where to start with Harden, but it's obvious that he doesn't want any part of the chips, other than maybe to eat them. What do he want? He will probably be parachuted into the perfect situation where he can be hailed as the missing piece, not do a lot, but the team will win anyway, and he can claim the glory for himself. There are people joining the marathon at the last turn. Guess which one is Harden.

We knew this in the beginning of the year. That was Harden's chance to join the glitterati of the NBA, the team that was built specifically for his impossible-to-watch game. Harden was the same sieve on defense that the rest of the team was as Golden State wiped out a 10-point halftime deficit in Game 6. What did harden do in the 4th? There were no points, two shots, two turnovers, and one foul back on the bench. He seems to have a main skill in crunch time is watching it all fall apart.

Game 7 was at home. The Warriors erased another halftime deficit when Harden was -20 in the third quarter. The game was already decided when six of Harden's eight points came in the last two minutes.

Things went sour in Houston, even though the Rockets did everything they could to please him. He took the buffet home when he got tired of it. He moaned and bitched when he got his ample ass shipped to Brooklyn.

Kevin Durant was the better scorer and thus more ball dominant, which didn't suit him either. James paid lip service to being a good teammate, but the second he realized he wouldn't be carried to a title on a Roman emperor, he stopped.

Philadelphia was happy to swap him out for their own airheaded doofus. It was obvious that Harden didn't have anything to offer when he showed up. It took opponents a few seconds to figure out that Harden can't get to the rim with his takeus somewhere around the free-throw line. Even though there was little threat, he forced four teammates to watch him try to hit the ball outside the arc.

When the chips were down for the 76ers last night, Harden came up with just 11 points, standing out beyond the 3-point line and not making free throws, trying to make it clear that it had nothing to do with him.

He will claim an injury. There is always an excuse. He is only getting older and slower, and he is running out of other championship situations he can drop into and try to get it to circle around him.

Even though I still think Jimmy is a fraud, at least there is work being done to make sure everyone sees him doing it. It is hard to say that is happening with Harden. He doesn't want anything to do with making it just so for him. He will show up when it is, but if it isn't, he throws up deuces.

The team is fucked. And he knows it. He can rant about the voting, but we know what's going to get him going on a hot day. He has an even bigger anchor than he had before, and neither of them wants to shoot it.
