Who should start up front for Chelsea in the FA Cup final? (0:45)

Gab and Juls debate who should face off in the FA Cup final. There is a delay of 0:45.

3:30 AM ET

The final of the men's FA Cup can only be won by a team from the top of the league. It will still feel like a marathon more than a sprint for the two teams. The 150th edition of the world's oldest cup competition ends this weekend, and the Royal Mint have decided to create a special coin in celebration.

It feels like a coin flip. The Carabao Cup final was decided by a penalty shoot-out, which the Blues won after Kepa Arrizabalaga missed his spot-kick.

This will be the 61st game of a tiring season that started with a Super Cup triumph in Northern Ireland, continued with Club World Cup success in Abu Dhabi, and is now ending under sanction after the UK government decided to punish the club.

The Blues and Reds will both end their seasons on 63 matches, and both clubs have admitted that their players are showing signs of fatigue after such a demanding campaign.

Although the chances of a Quadruple are fading as Manchester City continue to win, the team still has a chance. Wembley can be secured for the next leg.

Who needs this more?

The history at stake is likely to beLiverpool. Success in four cups would elevate the team to the status of one of the greatest in English football history. The prize they want the most is the one that is still up for grabs in the Premier League and the Champions League.

While the club has felt uncertain, the players deserve something to show for their professionalism. Tuchel has had to field questions on everything from war to morality, while maintaining his staff's spirits, since the day before the Carabao Cup final, when he tried to distance himself from the club.

A group led by Todd Boehly is trying to get approval from the U.K. government to take over the Dodgers. Boehly is likely to be at Wembley on Saturday. The ninth FA Cup win is a great way to start. Were they to win, they would move level with Chelsea on eight wins.

Any injury issues to consider?

The last three meetings between these sides have all ended in draws, and with a 3-4-2-1 formation and a high-pressing game in mind, the Blues will be looking to get a result against the Reds. Tuchel will be tempted to bring back Kai Havertz to lead the attack at the expense of Romelu Lukaku, who has started the last two games, scoring three times.

The impact substitute role could prove effective once again, as it did in the Carabao Cup final. Tuchel has to decide whether Christian, Timo, and Hakim play with Mount. His pace is not a problem, and that speed will be useful against the high line.

The absence of Mateo Kovacic is a blow to the team as Tuchel views his intelligence in possession as vital to their ability to dictate games. The central midfield is likely to be occupied by N&Golo Kante and Jorginho.

Left-back Andrew Robertson is likely to be recalled after he was one of five changes for the win at Villa Park. Since the beginning of February, Sadio Mane has scored more goals than any other player in the league and so he will surely start, leaving the decision of whether to pick Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, or Roberto Firmino as his third forward to the manager. Fabinho will be a big miss in the middle of the park, but he should be able to play in the final.

Who are the key players?

Mason Mount will feel that he has a particular point to prove, as he sees all the obvious threats for the Reds. The game would have been goalless at the half if he had not missed the two chances.

The beautiful game is here. Leagues, tournaments and teams can be watched.

On Saturday, May 14.

• Wolfsburg vs. Bayern Munich (9:30 a.m. ET)

• Dortmund vs. Hertha Berlin (9:30 a.m. ET)

• Bielefeld vs. RB Leipzig (9:30 a.m. ET)

• Chelsea vs. Liverpool (11:45 a.m. ET)

• Espanyol vs. Valencia (12:30 p.m. ET)

Mount was in fine form with a goal and an assist in Wednesday's win at Leeds and although Tuchel will make changes to that XI, Mount is expected to retain his place. He will be looking for space in an area that is likely to be occupied by Fabinho.

Jordan Henderson will have a key role in stopping the supply line to the forwards of the other team while also helping break the press of the other team. After being rested at Villa Park, Thiago was brought on for Curtis Jones and his pass led to the winning goal.

Thiago missed the Carabao Cup final after picking up a hamstring injury in the warm-up, but he will be desperate to play after producing arguably his best performance for the club in the FA Cup semifinal win over Manchester City.

Manager watch

This is the first time that two German managers have competed in an FA Cup final. It is the 19th meeting between the pair, and it has been dominated by the one who has won 10 and drawn five. Both are establishing themselves among the greats at their respective clubs, with Tuchel becoming only the second manager to lead a team into four major finals, something only previously done by Jose.

Tuchel's success came after just one year and108 days as head coach. The last two FA Cup finals were won by other teams, but only one of those came under Tuchel, as his predecessor Frank Lampard was beaten in front of an empty Wembley.

Even if the game ends in a draw, the status of one of the game's great modern-day managers is assured, but for Tuchel, a victory would be a validation of his methods and a reminder ahead of what will be a busy transfer window at Stamford Bridge.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool

It's hard to see how this won't have the same goals as the Carabao Cup final. The recent form of Chelsea is something of a concern, and their superior options in attack should give them the advantage.
