The $150 million yacht of a Russian billionaire has stopped sending out signals for five days while it heads towards the Bahamas.

The superyacht, called Pacific, is owned by a man who was sanctioned by the US and Canada and is the owner of a Russian gas giant.

Pacific was last seen in the Caribbean Sea on May 8 before its tracker turned off. According to the data, Nassau in the Bahamas was the next port destination for the yacht.

The yacht was docked in Costa Rica until May 5, when it sailed through the Panama Canal in a northeast direction towards the Caribbean.

86-metre long luxury Mega yatch 'Pacific', owned by Russian art collector and entrepreneur Leonid Mikhelson, arrives at Cruise Port Harbour in Marmaris, Mugla, Turkey on September 15, 2020.

The Mikhelson's yacht is at risk of being seized because the authorities there have previously worked with the US to detain vessels. Two Crystal Cruises ships were arrested in the Bahamas for not paying their fuel bill.

Tracking systems are required for ships of 300 gross metric tons or more that go on international voyages, according to the International Maritime Organization.

Mikhelson has a net worth of almost $26 billion. According to Superyacht Fan, his yacht can accommodate 28 crew members and 12 guests.
