The league will have 17 regular-season games in its second year after playing a 16-game schedule since 1978. The Buffalo Bills will play the Los Angeles Rams in the first game of the regular season. Tom Brady in Dallas, Russell Wilson in Seattle, Patrick Mahomes vs. Kyler Murray, and six in-division games are on tap for Week 1.

There will be a Super Bowl sequel between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buccaneers, an offensive battle between Rodgers and Allen, and a late-season Battle of Los Angeles. The league will play a game in Germany on November 13 and return to Mexico City on November 21. One of the three London games will feature the Green Bay Packers.

What should we think about the slate in 2022. Who is the biggest winner from the schedule release? Which games should be on your calendar? Which debut will be the most intriguing, and which late-season game could be important for the playoffs? Predicting the Super Bowl is one of the things our panel of experts weighs in on.

Which matchup do you have circled on your calendar?

Sarah Barshop is a reporter for the Rams. These are the two best teams in the league. Home-field advantage in the playoffs is likely to be on the line. Green Bay beat Los Angeles last season at Lambeau Field, so there is no reason to think Round 2 will be any less exciting.

The Week 4 game is between the Chiefs and the Buccaneers. It was the first game that caught my attention. Patrick is the quarterback. Tom Brady. There are two attacking defenses. That is good football and on a national stage.

Jeremy Fowler wrote about the Bolts at the Chiefs in Week 2. The last time these two played, there was a lot of offensive fireworks and failed fourth-down calls. Los Angeles has had this one circled for a while. Good theater can be found in the Justin Herbert vs. Mahomes match.

The Broncos are at the Seahawks in the first week of the season. Russell Wilson is going to go back to Seattle right away. It was a great Monday Night Football opener. How will he deal with it? How will he be received by the crowd? Wilson and the Broncos are one of the key storylines of the season, and this game should be one of the top Hard Feelings Bowl games.

The Bills are at the Rams in Week 1. I apologize, but what more could you want? It is last year's Super Bowl champion against the best team in the league. A win won't heal the wound of the missed opportunity, but it would be a start.

Who or what is the biggest winner of the schedule release?

The Dallas Cowboys are in the shop. Dallas and Washington are tied for the easiest strength of schedule, and Dallas appears to have a better end to its season. The last five games for the Cowboys are against weak opponents.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are mentioned. The team doesn't leave the Eastern time zone during the season. Reducing travel time has to be seen as a positive by a player.

The Washington Commanders was written by Fowler. The season begins with Jacksonville and Detroit. Houston and Atlanta will be back-to-back later in the year. They play in a division that is always favorable. Ron Rivera needs to produce his first winning season in Washington.

The social media team of the Los Angeles Clippers. If you haven't seen the video yet, you really should. It includes a shot at the Jaguars, a shot at the Falcons, a shot at the Colts, a shot at the Broncos, and a shot at the Legion of Boom. Work went into this. The winners of the night were the Chargers social team.

Walder was talking about the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo emerged from the schedule release with the best net rest differential in the league. The Bills have a bye. This is a small factor in projecting the season. The Lions have a plus-11-day differential.

Which Week 1 debut are you most interested in, and why?

Wilson was already getting a lot of attention when he was in Denver, but his debut against his former team in Seattle is even better. The Broncos have been a quarterback away from contention for a long time, and the West was not as strong as it is now. I am excited to see if Wilson can hit the next level in an offense with serious pass-catching talent.

Troy Aikman and Joe Buck talk about the Broncos and the Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

The first game with the Raiders is against the Chargers. The Raiders deploy Adams in the pass game, but we also get to see how Josh McDaniels handles Brandon Staley. The Vegas offense is changed by his ability to win from multiple alignments.

I am eager to see the Pittsburgh plan at quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben always got it done with Pittsburgh, even though they always found ways to win. Let's see how he changes the look of the team with the addition ofMitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett and/or Mason Rudolph.

I am interested in whether or not Deshaun will play in the first week of the season or if he will be serving a suspension. If he is playing, you can argue that he is under more pressure to perform than any other player in the league, given the circumstances surrounding his arrival in Cleveland and the mixed feelings the fans have about him being there.

I am curious to see how Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel meshes a deep-threat receiver like Tyreek Hill with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who attempted deep balls at one of the lowest.

Which win total over or under do you feel best about picking right now?

The Lions are under six wins. The Detroit team finished 29th in both offensive and defensive DVOA last season and brings back a similar roster in terms of talent, though a healthy Jeff Okudah and a new draftee should help. Detroit is destined for another low win total because of the limited upside of the quarterback.

The Chargers won over 10 games. This team has the make-up of a true contender with Herbert under center and a defense that added some difference-makers.

Fowler said that the Seahawks had six wins. This is a proud franchise with nine straight winning seasons prior to last year. The overall roster is going to be better if the quarterback position is saved. Seattle will grind out wins with a potent running game, an improved defense, and enough flash plays from the likes of Tyler Lockett.

The Steelers won over 7.5 wins. I don't know who will be playing quarterback, but I know they have a good defense, and Mike Tomlin has won at least eight games in every season he has been a head coach.

The 49ers are under 10 wins. Is it going to be assumed that quarterback Trey Lance is good right away? I am definitely not. It's hard to justify a 10-win total with an unknown player at quarterback. I got a sneak peek at the numbers, and they agree with the under. There is a chance Jimmy Garoppolo remains the starter and improves the Niners forecast, but you can't count on that.

Call it now: Which late-season matchup will have playoff implications?

The Week 18 game is between the Broncos and the Bolts. It was a good bet to pick another game from the competitive AFC West for the end of the season last year, as the final playoff spot came down to the final game for the Raiders and Bolts. There is a chance of a Sunday Night Football game between the Broncos and the Bolts.
