Texas Gov. Greg Abbott criticized President Joe Biden on Thursday for sending baby formula to migrants at the border, as American parents face a severe shortage.

The Republican and Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council said that children are our most vulnerable, precious Texans and deserve to be put first.

While mothers and fathers stare at empty grocery store shelves in a panic, the Biden Administration is happy to provide baby formula to illegal immigrants.

In the US, baby formula shortages began months ago and got worse in April. At the end of the month, 40% of infant formula products nationwide were out of stock, and in some states it was more than 50%. The White House plans to address the shortage.

A representative for Abbott did not respond to questions about how formula should be distributed or if it should be kept out of the hands of migrants.

CBP takes seriously its legal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of individuals in its custody. Ensuring migrants, including children and infants, in our custody have their basic needs met is in line with this Administration's commitment to ensuring safe, orderly, and humane processes at our border.

The statement came after a video was posted to Facebook that claimed baby formula had been shipped to holding facilities at the border.

The Florida Republican said that they couldn't find baby formula in their district.

A photo of a shelf of formula that she said was taken at the Ursula processing center in Texas was sent to her by a concerned border patrol agent.

He has been a border patrol agent for 30 years and has never seen anything like this before. She said that the agent told her that he couldn't believe a recent formula shipment came in and that the grandfather was saying that his own children couldn't get baby formula.

It is not the children's fault at all, but another example of the America last agenda that the Biden administration continues to perpetuate.

It is not clear when or how much infant formula has been provided to holding facilities.

The White House did not reply immediately.
