The Dead Space remake seems to be coming along nicely enough for the developers to commit to a release date. The remake of 2008's survival horror smash hit will be released on January 27th, and the team at Motive Studio will be showing off the work they've put into giving the game a fresh coat of bloody paint.

The art of the Dead Space remake was the focus of the livestream. The game's unique look and feel is underpinned by three pillars.

  • Horror storytelling. Dead Space is, obviously, set in space but sci-fi isn’t in the visual driver’s seat, it’s all the spooky stuff.
  • Immersion. The developers stressed that their goal is to ensure players will be scared of what’s in front of them.
  • A lived-in world. Every object, from the plasma cutters to the health tanks, tells a story and has a meaning.

The Dead Space level was rebuilt from the ground up. There were many before and after shots of items, as well as short clips of Isaac walking around updated levels. The team put together all the visual pillars and concepts after the livestream.

This is the third presentation on the Dead Space remake. Fans were treated to the very first look at the remake of the game before a similar livestream was held a few months ago. Fans will get a full reveal of the game later this year when the game is released on January 27th.
