This time, the focus is on the evolving nature of vehicle touchscreens.

The new split-screen display will be standard for all users of the app, allowing them to access key features from one screen. The split-screen display was only available to owners of certain vehicles. It will be the default user experience for all customers.

Ron Lopez, lead product manager at Android Auto, said that a different screen mode was available in a limited amount of cars.

No matter the size of the screen, the auto will adapt to it. The automakers are starting to get creative with the size of their display, installing everything from large portrait-style screens to long vertical ones shaped like surfboards. All of those varieties will be compatible with the new Android Auto.

Lopez said that they have seen some really interesting innovation from the industry, going to these large portrait displays going into these extremely wide landscape displays.

“We’ve seen some really interesting innovation from the industry”

The Mercedes-Benz EQS has a 56-inch wide Hyperscreen, which is actually three separate screens embedded in one pane of glass, and the Cadillac Lyriq has a 33-inchLED in-car entertainment system. He said that Google has been working with the auto industry to better adapt to this trend.

Lopez said that part of the new motivation behind the redesign was being able to adapt our product better to these vehicles that are coming out with these massive portrait displays and massive widescreen displays.

The likelihood that drivers will get distracted by their displays grows as the screens get bigger. The study found that those who smoked pot had slower reaction times than those who didn't. For the past several years, Google has been trying to find a solution to the problem.

Lopez said that safety is top of mind for the product team, which motivates them to work closely with the OEMs to ensure that the experience is fully integrated into the car's design to minimize distraction.

Several other updates are rolling out as well as adapting to different sized screens. Users will be able to reply to text messages with standardized replies with just one tap.

There are more options for entertainment. Tubi TV and Epix Now will be supported by the auto. It is possible for phone owners to cast their own content onto their car's screen.
