The 2031 Men's Rugby World Cup and the 2033 Women's Rugby World Cup will be hosted by the United States.

England and Australia will host the Rugby World Cup in 2029 and 2027, respectively.

The announcement of Australia and the U.S. as double hosts for both tournaments is the first time that World Rugby has awarded both premier tournaments to the same country over a two-year period.

England, Australia and USA have been approved to host the Rugby World Cup, providing unprecedented certainty and an unparalleled opportunity to accelerate the growth and impact of rugby globally. It is great for rugby, for fans and for the host nations.

Today is a landmark moment for the sport and an exciting development for fans. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this dream a reality as we look to deliver a truly global sport for all.

The Women's World Cup will be hosted by England after the men's World Cup in France, with the tournament poised to increase qualified teams from 12 to 16.

The World Cup in Australia in the year 2027 is followed by England, Japan, and France in the northern hemisphere, and Argentina and Russia in the southern hemisphere. The men's World Cup will take place in Australia from September 10 to October 23, 2027, it is the second time the country has hosted the event.

The women's World Cup will be held in the Southern Hemisphere for the second time in 2029, following the delayed World Cup in New Zealand.

The announcement of the U.S. for 2031 and 2033 comes after World Rugby confirmed it had entered exclusive discussions with the U.S. in relation to hosting both global rugby events. The U.S. was interested in hosting the men's competition in 2027, but decided to focus on 2031 because they had enough time to plan.

Breaking new ground. Discovering new stars. Inspiring new fans.
