The latest set of earbuds is the first to have the company's name on them. The new Buds are being announced today along with a couple of new phones from the EuropeanNord lineup.

The amount of Buds going for them is a fair amount. They don't have active noise cancellation, they only have two mics in each stem, and they're rated for the same seven hours of battery life as the Buds Z2, but with a case.

The new design of theNord Buds makes them even more comfortable for long listening sessions.

One way to think about it is that the Buds are the same as the AirPods. Which makes the $150 Buds Pro, which adds wireless charging and adaptive noise cancellation, the AirPods Max? This isn't a perfect analogy. The entry-level Buds are meant to be the cheapest model in the lineup, but now that the Buds Z is the same price, the catalog is starting to get a bit confusing.

It's also when it comes to wireless earbuds. There are two new phones for the European market today, the OnePlusNord 2T 5G and the OnePlusNordCE 2 lite 5G. The Nord 2T features 80W fast-charging, which is up from 65W last time. TheNordCE 2 lite is being pitched as a step down model compared to theNord 2, which was itself a step down from theNord 2. We can expect pricing and release date information when the phones are launched on May 19th.

While it's still mostly a phone brand, the headphones of OnePlus tend to be more expensive than those of other brands. The Buds Pro earned a spot on our list of the best wireless earbuds because they are comfortable to wear and impressive in their audio quality.

We are seeing a huge drop in the cost of a pair of earbuds. It isn't likely that the Nord Buds will best some of the higher-end models on the market, and even competing with slightly more expensive models like the Jabra Elite 3 is a big ask, but it wasn't that long ago that $100 was the bare minimum for a decent It is encouraging to see that price fall all the way down to $40.
