The Foreign and Security Policy Committee will make a decision on applying for membership on Sunday, followed by a parliamentary debate the next day.

According to the report, the country will be invited for membership negotiations after the declaration of intent to join is delivered to NATO.

The joint statement by the two top leaders was supported by the defense minister and the European affairs minister.
