The unofficial renders of the Z flip 4 and the Z fold 4 have also been leaked. The Z Flip 4 is almost identical to its predecessor, even though the next Fold might get a redesign. It still has a two-tone color scheme with a pair of cameras and a small notification display, but inside there is a 6.7-inch foldable display with a hole-punch selfie cutout.
That is not a big deal, nor is it a bad thing. The internals of the Z Flip 5G are almost identical to the Z Flip, so it proves that it is happy to update the internals of its foldables without changing their external appearance. We were impressed by last year's Z Flip 3, the first folding phone for normal people, so an immediate design change doesn't feel essential.
We hope that the Z Flip's specs get a decent boost if it's a spec boost. The rear cameras are in need of improvement, which were both 12-megapixel last time around, at a time when the flagship device of the company, the GALAXY S, is getting 50-megapixel main sensors and higher. If the same schedule is followed, expect an announcement in August.
