'It was my dream to make an impact at a famous club'

The manager says Celtic's Scottish title triumph has taken every ounce of him this season.

The 10th championship in 11 years was secured with a draw at Dundee United.

After finishing 25 points behind their city rivals last season, it capped an impressive turn around in the Australian's first season in charge.

It has been a hell of a season according to Postecoglou.

Our starting point was a fair way back and the way this group of players and staff has risen to the challenge, I cannot be more proud. It means a lot to our supporters.

It is fairly overwhelming. When you get to the finish line, you just want to collapse, because it has taken every ounce of me to get us where we are. You know how much everyone has put into it.

After Eddie Howe turned down the Celtic job, Postecoglou moved to Scotland and managed mainly in his native Australia and Japan.

After losing three of their first six games and falling six points behind Rangers, Celtic won the League Cup and are now 31 games without a loss in the league.

The achievement is hard for me to comprehend.

If you had told me a year ago that I would be standing here, I would have taken it.

The dream was to manage a famous club and make an impact. It is hard to put into words when something is almost a lifelong obsession.

It almost feels like two seasons in one. We have jammed in a rebuilding season and a winning season. We had a lot of work to do, and with the support of everyone at the club, we got there.

Postecoglou has done 'massive' job - analysis

Michael Stewart was a former Hearts player.

It has been relentless. It makes it all the more impressive when you think about the difficult start they had to the season and the pressure that was beginning to mount on the team.

I am pretty sure he would have seen how bad the place was when he walked in. It is a massive job he has done to turn that around so quickly.

Jack Ross was a former manager.

His team plays pretty well when you look at it. The starting position of his wide players is so high and aggressive that you know what to expect.

It was a challenge for a lot of managers to deal with because it was difficult to play against. He went to a different market and recruited Japanese players because he knew them and he backed them to give him what he needed.

It has been interesting to see a manager from a different background put his own stamp on it.
