Elon Musk says he wants to meet his Chinese doppelgänger, Yilong Ma — that is, if he isn't a deepfake

If he is real, Musk would like to meet a man from the northeastern Chinese province of Hebei.

Musk was responding to a user who suggested that Musk could be a "decoy" for the real deal.

If he is real, I would like to meet him. Musk said it was hard to tell with deep fakes.

Ma, who bears a striking resemblance to Musk, went viral on China's TikTok, after a video of him standing next to a luxury car spread on the platform. The video found its way to Musk and he joked on December 20, 2021, that he may be Chinese.

Ma has a TikTok account under the name Elong Musk, which has over 230,000 followers. He refers to himself as "China's Elon Musk" in an introduction video on TikTok.

Ma posted a TikTok video where he pointed at a picture of the Twitter icon and called it his bird.

Ma's most recent video appeared to show him trying to speak English. He uploaded it with the caption, "Actually, I don't know what I'm talking about, please forgive me."

Ma said that he would love to meet Musk.

I'm here. I want to see you as well. Ma wrote "I love you, you are my hero" on China's Weibo on Tuesday.
