In the past, he has said that he doesn't want to run the company as a corporation.
I don't believe anyone should own or run the social network. It wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company.
Musk is in the process of completing his acquisition of the micro-blogging site. The deal is expected to close in October.
In April, he said that Musk was the solution to righting the platform and that he trusts him to lead it.
In 2006 he co-founded the micro-messaging service. He was fired from his position as CEO but came back to lead the company again in 2015.
Parag Agrawal took over the reins of the company in November. Musk and Agrawal have clashed before, with Musk often ridiculing the other on social media. Musk said in a securities filing that he did not have confidence in management.
According to a CNBC report last week, Musk was considering becoming the interim CEO of Twitter.
