A passenger in a small plane took the controls after the pilot became ill and was able to land the plane safely. It went down at the airport. WPBF-TV in Palm Beach obtained video of the emergency after air traffic control received an alarming radio call from the passenger. The pilot is incoherent. I don't know how to fly the airplane. A serious situation is a gross understatement, but the dude stayed calm as the tower operator jumped to the ready. The passenger replied with a chilling message, "I can see the coast of Florida in front of me." I have no idea. The tower operator told them to maintain their wings level and follow the coast either north or south. We are trying to locate you. 25 miles from the airport, they found him. It was a respectable landing even for a licensed pilot after the tower operator gave instructions to the passenger. The names of the passenger and pilot have not been released by the FAA.
