The company plans to expand into other Israeli cities in the future, with the launch of its Smartscooters and battery swapping technology in Tel Aviv this summer.

Last month, the news followed the public debut of Gogoro. The company would focus its expansion on dense Asian cities where two-wheeled vehicles are popular, according to founder and CEO. Gogoro would continue to grow in its home market of Taiwan, as well as in newer and larger markets like China, India and Indonesia.

Gogoro is partnering with local companies that have existing infrastructure and resources to make it easier to launch. In China and India, it was Yadea and Dachangjiang Group, two Chinese motorcycle manufacturers. The company said that it is partnering with Metro Motor and the Paz Group for its Israeli expansion.

Those brands that sell their own scooters in China and India have been fitted with Gogoro's technology and components. Metro Motor will sell the S2 ABS and 2 Plus in Israel, according to a spokesman for Gogoro.

Paz will deploy the Gogoro Network GoStations at its gas stations and other appropriate consumer-centered locations, said Gogoro, noting that it plans to start with 10 battery swapping stations, or GoStations, at launch, and will expand to 35 this year.

Israel is one of the most innovative and technology forward countries in the world and we are excited to be launching there.

Since 2015, the company has exceeded 275 million battery swaps, and today, Gogoro manages more than 350,000 battery swaps per day.

Gogoro’s public debut could supercharge EV battery swapping across the globe
