Don't miss it.

At 9:11 pm. On May 15 at 12:11 a.m. The full moon will be red and eerie across the Lower 48 states. South America, Europe, and much of Africa will experience the phenomenon.

There is a total lunar eclipse. These occur when the moon, Earth, and sun are aligned. The event occurs when the moon and sun are on opposite sides of the Earth. The moon is in the shadow. A reddish color is reflected off the moon's surface by some sunlight that still sneaks through our planet's atmosphere.

A total lunar eclipse is a great reason to look up at the stars. Some will call this a super blood moon, or even longer names. You can as well. Or not.

At 9:11 p.m., the lunar eclipse reaches its peak color intensity. The event starts earlier as Earth casts a shadow on the moon. By 7:59 p.m. Half of the moon will be in the shadow of our planet. The moon will be red by 8:29 pm. It will look like this.
