The new Manchester City forward, Erling Haaland, is a really good signing for their title rivals.

The 21-year-old will join the club on July 1 subject to agreeing on personal terms, after City triggered Haaland's 51 million release clause.

Haaland is a perfect fit for Man City.

After the game at Villa Park, where the Reds beat the Villars 2-1, the question was asked how much Haaland will improve City.

He replied that a lot. City will never be a team that wins games because of one player. They have a way to play.

He will score a lot of goals on the second post, where he just puts a foot to it. He will like that. There will be other situations for him. He is a real beast. He was injured a couple of times but when he is fit, he is a real beast. It was a really good signing.

The Reds came from behind to beat Villa, despite being behind after just three minutes, and they will continue to fight to the end despite competing on three fronts with Saturday's FA Cup Final against Chelsea up next. It's over.

In my mind, we were six points behind City before the last game, and then we won and they lost, and we were only three points behind.

I came here today with that mindset. We are still chasing. Maybe it's because I'm a bit dumb, but it works great. The boys are invited to follow that path so we don't waste energy thinking they will lose. That didn't change at all.

We have to recover, recover and play the FA Cup final because obviously there is no mercy nowhere because we have to qualify for all finals.

The best decision for Erling Haaland was joining Manchester City.

Fabinho was forced to leave the field in the first half with a injury and was unsure if he would be able to return.

I don't know if he will be able to play. He is quite positive but I am not sure what to make of that.

After the match, Steven Gerrard said he was pleased that referee Jon Moss would be retiring at the end of the season after widespread hostility towards the officials from the home crowd.

No comment about Moss performance. I hope it is looked at. I will only say that. I hope the performance of Jon is looked at. I don't want to get into trouble with the Football Association and I don't want to be sour.

We need to look at that, we lost the game, and they scored two goals against us. I don't want to try and cover over any cracks, but you asked me a question and I said I hoped the referee's performance is looked at.

He was told that Moss was retiring at the end of the season. Good.
